Established as a fully-owned Government of India Enterprise and a PSU in 1981, Oil India Limited (OIL) has played a crucial role in India’s E&P industry. Initially under the control of ONGC and OIL, the Indian exploration industry focused on land and shallow offshore drilling. In 1979, the government introduced strategic measures to attract foreign investment and expertise, and by 1981, OIL became a fully operational PSU.

Qualification Requirements
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fire & Safety Engineering / Fire Engineering (Minimum 4 years duration) with at least 65% marks
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in any Branch of Engineering (Minimum 4 years duration) AND Master’s Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety/HSE (Minimum 2 years duration) with at least 60% marks
Desirable Certifications
Candidates with the following certifications will be given preference:
- International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety (IOG) / International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (IGC) from NEBOSH
- Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification under ISO 45001:2018
- BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)
- Helicopter Under Water Escape and Sea Survival Training (HUET)
Experience Requirement
- A minimum of 9 years of post-qualification work experience in handling HSE issues in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Out of 9 years, at least 4 years must be in offshore HSE
