Assam University Silchar is seeking applications from eligible candidates for the positions of Research Assistant and Field Investigator on a temporary basis. These positions are for a Minor Research Project funded by the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR), titled “A Study on the Folklore of the Chorei Tribe in Southern Assam.”
Position 1: Research Assistant
- Number of Posts: 1
- Salary: Rs.16,000/- per month
- Qualification: Candidates should hold a Ph.D., M.Phil., or Postgraduate degree in Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks. Candidates from a background in Cultural Studies, Sociology, or Anthropology will be desirable.

Position 2: Field Investigator
- Number of Posts: 1
- Salary: Rs.15,000/- per month
- Qualification: Candidates should possess a Postgraduate degree in Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks. Candidates from a background in Cultural Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, or Social Work will be desirable.
Selection Procedure
A walk-in-interview will be conducted on 17th November 2023, starting from 10:30 AM onwards in the Department of English, Assam University, Silchar.
