About BBCI:
Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) was established with the support of the Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Society Trust. The institute, which opened its doors on November 18, 1973, is recognized as a Regional Cancer Centre by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. In 1986, it became part of the Government of Assam, and since 2017, it has been under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, as a unit of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai.
