Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Assam is seeking applications from eligible candidates for the position of Associate Professor in the School of Habitat Studies on a short-term contract basis. The initial contract will be for a period of two years, with the possibility of extension based on institute rules and UGC guidelines.

Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree (with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade on a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed) in disciplines such as economics, sociology, social work, development studies, environmental sciences.
- A good academic record, with a PhD degree in the relevant disciplines mentioned above.
- Minimum eight years of experience in teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor in a University, College, or Accredited Research Institution/industry.
- Minimum seven publications in peer-reviewed international or national UGC-listed journals.
- Total research score of 75 as per the criteria in Appendix II, Table 2.

Selection Procedure:
Shortlisted candidates will receive a call letter and a link for an online interview. The interview will be conducted via the Zoom platform on July 12, 2024.
