The Office of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chirang, Assam, is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join their team as a Field Officer (Disaster Management) on a contract basis. This role is crucial for enhancing disaster management and community outreach in the district.

Position: Field Officer (Disaster Management)
Number of Positions: 1
Salary: Rs. 28,500/- per month
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years old as of January 1, 2024.
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Science with Statistics, Geography, Environmental Science, or Geology as a subject; or a diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognized University/Institution.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet usage, and Emails. Preference will be given to candidates with a BCA or equivalent course in Computer Science.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a WhatsApp group for important contacts within your revenue circles to facilitate effective communication.
- Disseminate alerts from SEOC/DEOC to Gaonburhas, school teachers, and officials within your revenue circle via WhatsApp or SMS.
- Assist DDMA in preparing and updating disaster management plans at the village, Gaon Panchayat, and Circle levels.
- Support the organization and execution of capacity-building and awareness programs for various local functionaries.
- Maintain a database of critical infrastructures and support activities related to Village Land Management and Disaster Management Committees.
- Ensure timely submission of Daily Flood Reports to DEOC during the flood season.
- Update life-saving and search and rescue equipment data quarterly on the ASDMA MIS Portal.
- Assist in managing communication systems and coordinating with other departments on disaster management issues at the Circle level.
- Document critical circle-level challenges and best practices in disaster management.
- Provide progress reports as per the formats and timelines established by DDMA.
