Assam Career: The Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) has released a notification inviting applications for the post of Junior Accounts Assistant. Here are the details of the position:

Name of Post: Junior Accounts Assistant Number of Posts: 1 Pay Scale: Pay Band-2 (Rs. 14000 – Rs. 59000) + Grade Pay of Rs. 7400/- with other allowances as admissible under the rules

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess a 1st Class in B.Com. with Accountancy as a major subject or 1st Class with Honours Course in B.Com under CBCS from a recognized university/institution.

Desirable Experience: Working experience in any Government organizations, institutions, or reputed private organizations with basic computer knowledge in Tally, e-filing of GST, TDS, Professional tax, Labour cess, C.P.F., etc.

Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 18 years old and not more than 38 years old as of 01.01.2023. Age relaxation will be provided as per the Government of Assam norms.

Selection Procedure: The selection process consists of three stages:

  1. Stage 1: Written Test (150 marks) – The written test will comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on general knowledge, English language, reasoning and arithmetic, bookkeeping, and other accounts related questions.
  2. Stage 2: Skill (practical) Test (50 marks) – This test will assess the practical knowledge of the candidates in information technology (IT), taxation, and auditing in a computer lab.
  3. Stage 3: Academic Qualification (50 marks) – Marks will be awarded based on the candidate’s academic qualifications from Class 10th onwards up to the graduation level.
