Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for the post of Principal, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:
- Educational Qualification:
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent in the point scale where grading system is also followed) from a recognized University.
- A Ph.D. Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Experience:
- Must have served as a Professor/Associate Professor for at least 15 years of total service experience in teaching or research at Universities, Colleges, or other institutions of higher education.
- Academic Performance Indicator (API):
- A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based performance appraisal (PBAS) set in the UGC regulations in Appendix-I for direct recruitment of Principals in colleges.
- A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Research Score:
- A minimum of 110 research score as per Appendix-2, Table-2, under UGC regulations.
- Relaxation for SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates:
- A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided at the Graduate and Master Degree level for SC/ST/Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled) candidates. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent in the point scale where grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the category mentioned above are permissible only based on the qualifying marks without including any grace marks.
- Ph.D. Degree Holders:
- A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) may be provided to Ph.D. Degree holders who obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
- Age Limit:
- The upper age limit is 55 years as on 01-01-2024.
