Inviting application for appointment of Chairperson and Members of Child Welfare Committees
(CWC) and Social Workers of Juvenile Justice Boards (JJB) of Assam under JJ Act 2015
In cancellation of the earlier advertisement published in daily news paper (The Assam Tribune) on
dated 25/10/2019, applications are invited for re-constitution of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and
Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in the following districts.
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates in the prescribed format along with supporting testimonials for filling up of vacancies.
i. Age: 35 to 65 years of age on 01/04/2021.
ii. Educational qualification: Preferably Post Graduate in Social work, Education, Psychology, Psychiatry, Human Development, Law or retired Judicial officer. A retired college teacher, doctor or a social worker who had been involved in work concerning
Children will be preferred.
iii. Experience: At least 7 (seven) years experience of working with Children in the field of Education, Health, Child Welfare activities or development activities or Child Protection
activities.
iv. A person shall not be illegible for application……, if
a. he / she had been convicted under any law.
b. he / she had ever indulged in child abuse or employment of child labour or any other human rights violation or immoral act.
c. he / she is holding such other full time occupation that does not allow him to give
necessary time and attention to the work of the board;
d. does not fulfill the qualification and experience prescribed in the Act and rules made
there under and in such a case the Selection Committee, constituted under Rule 87
shall after due inquiry and on establishment of such fact, reject his application and
recommend the name of the next person from the list of names prepared for filling
the vacancies.
e. Person is engaged in Child Care Institution (CCI) – Children Home / Adoption Agency / Open Shelter under JJ Act.
The Social Workers / Members (JJB / CWC) shall be paid Rs.1,500/- (Rupees Fifteen Hundred) only per sitting (minimum 6 hours) as travel, sitting & conveyance allowance as per ICPS guideline.
Applicants shall submit applications along with a self declaration certificate by 9th August 2021 during office hours. Copy of self declaration certificate attached with the advertisement. The applications received in the respective districts will be scrutinized by District Level Scrutiny. Committee (DLSC) and the panel list of shortlisted candidates from DLSC will be placed before the State Level Selection Committee (SLSC) constituted under Rule 87 of Central Model JJ Rule, 2015 for the final approval. The SLSC has the power to reject any applications and recommendations given by DLSC as and when required.
